Capsule Geology

The RNT zone is located within Late Devonian-aged Forrest Kerr pluton, where several small mineralized outcrops are exposed in moraine immediately below the toe of a glacier. The exposed mineralized outcrops cover an area of approximately 325 by 325 metres and appear to be fault-bounded to the northwest and southeast.

The RNT zone is a newly discovered zone identified by Romios Gold Resources during the 2007 field season. Romios collected 48 chip and grab samples from the RNT zone in 2007. Two holes were drilled from a single drill pad on the RNT zone during the 2007 season (DDH R-07-7 and R-07-8) for a total of 352.1 metres. Drillhole R-07-7 was drilled to a total depth of 150.9 metres and R-07-8 was drilled to a depth of 201.2 metres. Both drillholes encountered megacrystic syenitic dikes and dikelets over the length of the holes.

Mineralization appears to be of alkalic porphyry-type and is associated with a series of pink, sulphide-bearing, potassium-feldspar megacrystic, syenitic dikes at variable orientations and of unknown age. In the intensely mineralized core of the zone, approximately 5 to 15 per cent disseminated and fracture/stockwork/veinlet-hosted chalcopyrite +/- magnetite-pyrite mineralization occurs in pink potassium-feldspar megacrystic dikes as massive chalcopyrite-magnetite clots, and in altered dioritic phases of the Forrest Kerr pluton as massive to euhedral sulphides and veinlets associated with potassium-feldspar dikes, stringers and quartz-feldspar veins; massive magnetite-hematite veinlets also intrude the diorite. The diorite is cut by a fracture network with bleached selvages and fine-grained sulphides +/- quartz-feldspar on fracture surfaces; dominant vein orientations trend 125/305 and 020/200. Near intense mineralization, the feldspar megacrysts and phenocrysts in the megacrystic dikes are selectively altered to chlorite. The host diorite is intensely silicified, mafic phases are partially altered to magnetite, very fine-grained grey feldspar alteration is pervasive, sporadic black secondary biotite is present, and finely disseminated pyrite is associated with milky feldspar phenocrysts and thin quartz-feldspar stringers/fractures.

Alteration is variable but consistently present in the drillcore over the entire length of both holes. Abundant pyrite is seen over virtually all intervals of both holes as fine disseminations, veinlets, and stringers, and minor clots and specks of chalcopyrite were noted locally. The best intersection is from 142.49 to 144.02 metres of drillhole R-07-8 which assayed 0.119 per cent copper over the 1.53 metre intersection (Assessment Report 30449).

Several semi-massive chalcopyrite-bearing boulders were found approximately 370 metres southeast of the RNT zone drill holes, immediately below the receding glacier.

In 2019, roughly 900 metres northeast of the RNT MINFILE plot, a zone of intense quartz veining forms a local hydrothermal cemented breccia, while a small, potassium-feldspar-sulphide cemented breccia was also noted. Vuggy quartz veining, associated with weak potassium-feldspar alteration, is also present in the area, however vein density remains overall low.

In 2019, Crystal Lake Mining (later changed to Enduro Metals Corporation) collected 2070 rock samples and 6125 hyperspectral measurements were collected throughout the Newmont Lake property. The area was also extensively covered by the property-wide soil sampling program. A total of 2624 soils samples were collected, with a main focus around the Chachi Corridor (including RNT at south end of the corridor), Cuba, North/Kerr Glacier, and Thumper areas. In addition to geological and geochemical work, approximately 18 line-kilometres of an Induced Polarization (IP) survey was completed along the northern portion of the west side of the Chachi corridor over known showings that included QS (104B 446), Tetra (104B 448), Chochi (104B 461), Tic 5 (104B 549), Leo (104B 717), Brass Rose (104B 723) and Grey Rose (104B 728). An outcrop sample taken southwest of RNT graded 0.1 gram per tonne gold, 11.5 grams per tonne silver 0.91 per cent copper and 0.034 per cent zinc (Sample A0039564, Assessment Report 39128).
